Heading into the last race, Hamilton was seven points ahead of Felipe Massa, meaning that the Brazilian had to win the race and have Hamilton finish sixth or lower for him to win the championship. It starts to rain on the final lap and Glock was now completely unable to get any grip allowing Hamilton to pass him on the final bend to secure fifth place and the 2008 World Driver’s Championship. In October 2008 My boyfriend surprised me with a trip to the Maldives for my 21st birthday, whilst I was there I watched my idol Lewis Hamilton win the WDC. I had been fretting all day that we wouldn't find a TV channel with the F1 race on! Luckily I managed to spend the day sunbathing, snorkelling, eating lovely food & then watching the most spectacular race with the perfect ending! One of the best times of my life! Michaela Devonport
