A Collection of memories of my first British Grand Prix experience

My one time watching a race at Silverstone was in 1979 while Mario Andretti drove for Lotus. I snapped a picture of Colin Chapman in the paddock area by one of the team garages. The next most memorable memory I have of that race was seeing a huge Royal Air Force helicopter doing a barrel roll over the infield prior to the race. I was in England on 30-day TDY for the USAF, as a KC135 Tanker crew chief. Reggie

Silverstone 2004 first ever visit to a Grand Prix. Camping whilst 8 months pregnant! Hardcore F1 lover. Think that’s where my son got the love of racing as he now does karting. Nicola Frendt

Attending my first F1 GP at Silverstone in 2009 thanks to my elder daughter and son in law at the age of 63 having been an F1 fan for nearly 50 years, I will never forget the moment when I first saw the cars come out on track. Jill Hutton

The first time I ever saw my inspiration live in action. It was Silverstone 2011, and after a long bus, train & coach journey I was finally there. I cannot even describe the feeling of walking through the gates, of hearing the noise of an F1 car for the first time, or of seeing my Hero Lewis Hamilton drive past me. it was an experience I will never ever forget. It was almost like a dream, I couldn't actually believe that it was really Lewis, in that car right in front of me, that just drove past. Best day of my life. Kayleigh Davenport
