A Collection of Driver Memories

Jenson Button winning Monaco GP in 2009 and running down the road to the podium after missing the place to park the winner's car! Michelle Ryles

Jean Alesi winning the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix for Ferrari. Incredibly, his first & only Grand Prix win! As he crossed the line you could hear him crying on the radio. The fans stormed the track & when Alesi ran out of fuel Michael Schumacher came by and gave him a lift back to the pits - a great moment! Rachel Hack

The moment when we saw Senna crash and the slow realisation we had lost a superstar and all time great who can never be forgotten. Rob Aitken

When I was a keen F1 fan, 40 years ago. Graham Hill picked me up and put me in his car, for a photograph. At the British Grand Prix. What a legend. He told my brother that I would never forget that. I was so excited, I couldn't stop shaking. I still have the photo! Richard Lupton

My memory is of Guy Edwards at Brands Hatch in 1963.I went to join the Brands Hatch Racing School with Geoff Clark in charge, and Guy was always very kind to me - teaching me how to drive the track, etc. He came to hospital to see me when I crashed at Paddock Bend on a race practice day. The car was racing on the Sunday - I remained in hospital for some time, unable to move with severe whiplash. I did not keep in touch unfortunately, my next move was into rallying and rallycross. Bronwyn Burrell

Guy Edwards was one of the drivers who pulled Niki Lauda from his burning car during the 1976 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring

“The first podium of Checo Perez": Last year at the Malaysian Grand Prix, we saw the first podium of Checo and the first of a Mexican Driver in more than 40 years. I think this is one of my favorite memories from F1 because after watching F1 my entire life this was the first time I saw a driver from my country at the podium celebration in F1. Of course if Checo win a GP in the future that day will be my favorite memory of F1. Jorge Rosas

In 2012 Sergio "Checo" Perez, driving a Sauber-Ferrari, finished second in the Malaysian Grand Prix
